No Budget Scene started a bunch of years ago online as a paid bulletin board for lo-no budget filmmakers to meet, greet, share and contribute to each other's projects. It became apparent that a huge part of the board was located in and around the outskirts of NYC and most were newcomers to filmmaking or were people who wanted guidance in their own projects from the more experienced members. Unfortunately, as the board aged and it's more experienced members got involved in bigger and bigger proje …

Filmmaking became accessible for virtually everyone. Shooting on film is beautiful and as a Director/Writer I love it but I've seen remarkable Motion Pictures shot on cell phones and full frame digital cameras. There are many ways to make it in the Film Industry: Write a screenplay - hand it to an agent; make a short - send it to a festival; go to film school - make commercials/music videos; the key is MEET PEOPLE, WORK HARD TOGETHER, BE TENACIOUS and make films - don't talk about making them an …

We have also started to organize and attend seminars on various industry topics like h …
The aim of this Manhattan-based group is to serve as a social outlet for creativity, and to produce fun-to-watch short films of acceptable quality for the film festival circuit. No experience necessary! We may not produce as impressive a product as we want, but we’ll make movies, learn a lot, and we’ll have fun. Films will be written and directed by its members, and we’ll decide collectively which will be the next project. Any collective, and certainly this one, will require frequent compromise, …

Anyone …
